About me

Why I write and why I like Positano so much

I chose Positano for “The Waves of Positano” because this place is more than a backdrop for me—it’s my breath, my heartbeat, my soul’s home. When I walk along the alleys, see the fishing boats in the bay, and breathe in the scent of lemons and jasmine, I know that stories of love and healing must emerge here. Positano has a magic that heals wounds and opens hearts, just as my protagonist Sofia needed. The waves, the fishermen, the community—they reflect the journey I wanted to tell: a journey from pain to strength, from loneliness to love. For me, Positano is not just a place, but a feeling that I want my readers to feel with every page.

About my book

“The Waves of Positano”

Imagine sitting on a terrace in Positano, the sun kissing the pastel-colored houses clinging to the cliffs, while the waves of the Amalfi Coast sing a gentle song of love and new beginnings. In “The Waves of Positano,” Lucia Di Angelo’s debut novel, the author invites you into this enchanting world, where the salty breeze and the scent of lemon trees embrace a story of healing and heartfelt warmth.

At the center of the story is Sofia, a woman whose soul seeks solace in the alleys of Positano after a painful divorce. There, where the sea shimmers a deep blue, she rediscovers not only her passion for fashion, but also love—for herself, for a new life, and for Luca, a storyteller whose words capture the magic of the bay. With every stitch in her designs, inspired by fishing boats and lemon trees, Sofia sews her dreams together anew. But the shadows of the past—a menacing phone call, a legal dispute—challenge her courage until she celebrates her triumph in a dazzling fashion show, carried by the warmth of Positano and the love she has found.

Lucia Di Angelo tells the story of Sofia’s mastery of life’s waves with delicate elegance and deep emotion. The picturesque setting of the Amalfi Coast becomes the backdrop for a journey full of emotions, where Nonna Rosa, the maternal soul of the place, reminds Sofia with her laughter and wisdom to never forget the sea. Every page of this novel is like a stroll through Positano’s alleys, where the beauty of the landscape and the warmth of the people touch the heart.

The Waves of Positano is a gift for all who love romantic novels that tell of strong women, Italian charm, and the power of new beginnings. Whether you’re longing for a story that makes you dream or a book that accompanies you with a glass of wine on a cozy evening, this novel is for you. With her love of Italian culture and her talent for emotional storytelling, Lucia Di Angelo has created a work that will keep you hooked.

About my writing

The Secret of Writing

For me, writing is as natural as breathing, a way to embrace the world and capture its beauty. I am Lucia Di Angelo, born on the Amalfi Coast, where the waves whisper stories and the lemon trees speak of dreams. Even as a child, I sat on the cliffs, like my hero Luca, with a notebook on my knees, letting the colors of the sea, the warmth of the sun, and the voices of the fishermen flow into words. These moments, when life feels like a poem, are the reason I write—to share them with others, to perhaps touch hearts, especially those of my readers who, like me, seek the magic in the everyday.

I write to capture the small, quiet moments: the laughter of a friend, the rustle of a linen shirt in the wind, the scent of jasmine in an alley. For me, these details are the heart of every story because they make us human. My novels, like *The Waves of Positano*, arise from the desire to tell stories of love, healing, and new beginnings—stories that show how strong we can be, even when life gets stormy. I want my readers to identify with my characters, with their doubts, their dreams, their courage.

For me, writing is a gift to my readers, an invitation to lose themselves in Positano, to laugh, to cry, to love. I am a woman who learns from the waves, who stumbles and gets up again, who believes that love and courage carry us. I hope my stories touch you, give you a piece of home—just as Positano does for me.

“A book that transported me straight to Positano! The descriptions of the bay, the lemon trees, and the fishing boats are so vivid I could almost feel the wind. Sofia’s story touched me—her strength and tender love for Luca are so beautifully told. It’s like sitting by the sea with a friend and dreaming. A must-read for anyone who loves romance and hope!”

Jeannette A.

“Lucia Di Angelo has created a little gem with “The Waves of Positano.” The story of Sofia, who begins anew after a difficult time, captivated me. The scenes with Nonna Rosa and the fisherman’s festival were so heartfelt. I lost one star because I would have liked to have seen more of Giulia and Matteo, but the atmosphere and the love enchanted me.”

Isabelle K

“A beautiful novel that transported me to the sunny world of the Amalfi Coast. Sofia’s courage and the community in Positano warmed my heart. Luca, her rock, was exactly the kind of romance I love. At times, the plot seemed a bit predictable, but the descriptions and emotions make up for it. I look forward to more from this author!”

“The book is like a vacation for the soul! Positano comes alive in every line—the alleys, the sea, the scent of limoncello. Sofia’s journey to self-discovery and her quiet, deep love for Luca truly touched me. Lucia Di Angelo writes so poetically that you feel every scene. Perfect for a cozy evening with a glass of wine!”
